Avoiding Time Confetti

We have more time for leisure than we did fifty years ago. But leisure has never been less relaxing.

Y’all - it’s time to put down the smartphones. Obsessive, addictive phone use is killing our capacity to pay attention, impacting our personal relationships and increasing our feelings of anxiety and overwhelm!

If you feel like you are working around the clock but can’t seem to get anything done, take a look at your time. How much ‘time confetti’ have you created with your phone habits? By creating better boundaries and establishing rituals around when and how you engage with your phone, you’ll see an immediate uptick in your peace of mind, productivity and quality of time.

A few tips to take back your time and improve the quality of your attention:

✅ Embrace focus mode and cancel notifications during your peak performance periods of the day

✅ Dock your phone during the evening hours with your family

✅ Keep that phone silenced and tucked away during meals - especially when you are dining with others!

✅ Embrace analog planning methods (For a hybrid solution, check out the Remarkable 2 - my latest obsession, thanks to Tara Swords)
